Deserts and Puddings

Victorian food varied considerably, depending on whether you were rich or poor.  The poor, such as a farm laborer, would be satisfied with a filled pie, potatoes, bread and other filling carb-rich foods, while for the upper classes, nothing less than fine dining was the norm, with the family employing a French chef if possible.

I will be posting lots of recipes here, mixed with history and a dash of culture, so enjoy and remember on each post to comment or ask questions if you need to.
